My niece was having a bit of an off day though so figured we’d do some dolling up, and she kindly allowed me to share the after-snap.

Meet my sugar plum, my sassy jelly bean kitten: Marit!

MUA undress me too palette

On the eyes! Bold smokes with the MUA Undress Me Too Palette.
Doesn’t she have an awesome eye shape?!

Top left as a highlight, top 2nd shade on the lid and inner corner, top 5th shade as a blending aid, and some matte black along the outer V to define!

Bad days call for liner to stab with right, that opaque matte black liner is Gosh’s Eyeliner Pen.

Lips Nougat Crisp liner from Gosh.

And last but not least: nothing on the face! She downright hates her freckles.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU FRECKLED PEOPLE.

Sincerely,
You are cute.

FOTD: Lambda Luv

Whipped out some new goodies from BornPrettyStore today to slather on a nuclear Half Life look!

As orange is the main “good” accent color throughout the game I went for a bright pop of that, and kept the rest clean. Accompanied by a little lambda to represent the rate of radioactive decay. And the resistance. And dog!

FOTD: Playing with Acid

These days i’ve been trying to look a little more normal job and school-wise, however too much normal hurts.

So this weekend I went to hunt for some bright synthetic hair clip-ons, to work into my daily updos.
You know, for some subtle colour that can be removed just in case people start screaming. ;D
And what other place to look for those thaaan the Carnotstraat in Antwerpen.

Here’s what I scored:

Sleek acid Palette

Yeah, I think my make-up inspiration for today is pretty self-explanatory right. :D

*sigh* aren’t they pretty…
The two on the right are especially nice quality, so smooth..

I’d like to pet them all day.

And thus I busted out my Sleek Acid palette:

What liner stays put?

Not so long ago, me and my mom were discussing how some pencils just don’t stay put in the waterline for more than a couple of minutes.

Then why put them on in the first place right?

Therefore I wanted to assemble a list of my highly scientific liner findings!

Quick crooked liner fix!

My make up course is only starting in January, so I can still look unprofessional now, HA!
I’ll make use of this situation to share a noob-secret with you that I use a lot.

Some liner and mascara can make all the difference:

Before

After!

eyeshadow

Much better already!

However when we zoom in on the liner…

2b liner

I really messed up huh!

Out of all the make-up styles out there, winged liquid liner is still the most daunting thing for me.
Sometimes i’m even doubting whether i’ll apply it, because I might mess up my eyeshadow!

However then I breathe and think abouuut.. THIS:

liquid liner

I’m so sorry about the lighting, winter is kicking my ass, all the articifial lighting.
I’ll find a fix for it soon.

A see-through glitter liner!
(If you don’t have that, some glitter will do too)

Just paint a nice amount over the areas that you missed, or that need straightening.
The glitter particles will deflect light, and make it seem as if your black liner is straight!

Feel free to be a little messy by the way, as long as it’s on the bare parts it’s fine!

2b liner

Ta-daaaa!

glitter liner
eyeshadow

Easy, sloppy, and it works!

The eyeshadows I used today are from an LA colors palette by the way, called “fabulous”:

fabulous

I used the first two on my lid, and the last one on my outer v.

They’re so easy to blend!

For an added pop of color, I put a purple liner from 2b on my waterline.

I’m totally new to LA colors shadows but really enjoying them!
Have you picked any up yet?

They’re cruelty free you know.. what’s keeping you! :D

OOTE: MUD school Kortrijk

OMGWTFBBQ! All these abbreviations..

My mom went for a lovely contrast outfit.. I adore her shoes. And we wear the same size too.
Muhaha..!

I ended up going for the good ol’ pin-up dress, with some red boots. Yes, I went for comfortable again. -_-‘

As for the rest of mah face, I had a retro vibe goin on, and what’s maybe even more exciting to me than the event itself: I got to do my mom’s make-up as well!
Made me feel like a true MU artist, and let me tell you, it was HARD lol!
Applying winged liner on someone else was so difficult, it felt like trying to freehandedly paint a straight line on a dummy.

The event was exciting! Definitely crazy to see something big like that, and the international influences could definitely be seen!

Not to say that’s bad, they needed to go big to set the tone and it was great, however I felt uneasy somehow.
I do think that’s largely due to the crowd, see I actually really liked the people working there, just the visitors were a little creepy haha.
Pictures were VERY much frowned upon. Oh no not by the staff, no no. By the crowd.

The second me and my mom walked into the “black blazer, black u’rything”-crowd there was a staring contest. I felt like we just landed in a bunch of cougars.

Most of them weren’t even interested in the special effects make-up being done!

That’s one crazy stare, lady!

Then again that may just be my inner world reflecting onto them, because I did get to meet two lovely ladies!

make-up designory

To the left we have contemporary make-up artist & stylist Boucquaert Els, and the right lady is just seriously right up my alley.
A fierce retro hair & make-up stylist called Jill! :)
They were kind enough to share some insight and maybe tried to scare me off a little as well, by saying the competition is brutal and the business is rough haha.

Then after that I proceeded to make a big fool of myself by saying “I really thought you had long hair…” to a famous Belgian star as they were working her weave. SMOOTH!

What really surprised me is, standing next to her I could obviously see tons of powder on her face, and the fake hair vs her real hair.
However looking back at some pictures, the skin looks pore-less and fresh!
I’d really like to learn more about HD make-up.

MUD

My head is still buzzing from all the new impressions. Like mom said, you won’t be able to sleep now, that’s for sure.
It’s 3 am now, but this post helped me put my mind at ease a bit.

I’m actually going back to the school tomorrow for the actual opening, where you’re able to talk to the artists and sign up.
Even though I got overwhelmed, I enjoyed myself and there’s no doubt i’m supporting them all the way still.

As long as they stay cruelty free i’m there!
