The Psychology Of Colors

Hey ho!
I love Stumble!
Instead of staying in your safe little corner on the web, it makes you go out and explore.
Just now I came across a great image that really hits home.
When I visit a place the first thing I notice is colors around me: trees, graffiti, ..
And i’m pretty sure everyone does too!
Even if it’s subconcious.
Just the way a grey environment can completely alter your mood baffles me.
Or how colors really latch onto onto certain moods or activities, insane!
I’d love to follow a course in color studies.. how cool must that be.
Sheds a light on marketing too i’d imagine.
Red and yellow makes you hungry, that I do know. ^_^’
But here’s some other ones:
psychology of colors
I must admit I did wear blue for a job interview twice because it’s supposed to represent honesty.
Got the jobs too.. coincidence or not?
Muhaha absolutely deeevious.

  1. This is fascinating and something I’m going to read repeatedly!! I love it. I love color – it’s my favorite….entity, element of life?

  2. Oh my, I knew that MacDo used red and yellow because it makes people happy & hungry, but I didn’t know what all the other colors stood for. It’s true that purple is ALWAYS used in anti-aging though! I just wore a blue blazer and got myself an appointment for a job interview/internship talk thingy so yay! I’m definately wearing that blazer again :D

  3. hehehe, I haven’t even finished reading the chart yet the manatee keeps making me giggle. :)

  4. Wow, this is very interesting!! Thanks for such an informative post!

I love Yellow and Green… And Red too! And Purple and a little bit of Orange, because they make me happy
I'm not very fond of blue, I even got a little cold looking at blue all the time hahaha
But now that I know it should represent trust and honesty, maybe I should wear blue on job interviews or exams in the future too… :D
Or maybe I should just wear my sparkly stuff and all-colours pants!! :D teeheehee
Yes colours make me all hyper and happy :)

    • PUT – THE COFFEE – DOWN Kristien. ;D Makes sense, blue makes me feel cold too. Weeeird right, how they can make you feel all differently? :/ I used to hate grey and white classrooms. Couldn’t concentrate. And you have all-colors pants? oO can I see a picture? Are they awesome?

      • Didn’t I wear those when we met? I don’t know anymore :p
        I have 2 though :D but I don’t think I have pics…
        I didn’t have coffee, colours have that effect on me too :D :D :D :D :D
Classrooms are just boring :) I think a light yellow would look good in classrooms, they need pastel or soft colours though :p

      • Noo but all of a sudden i’m getting a flashback to you talking about it when we met! It’s like time travel up in here! :o and they really do. Something warm and non intimidating >_<

  6. This is so interesting! You never really think about these things :-)

Speak your mind!
