15 – okay 16 new ways to make use of your polishes!

If – like over here – your nailpolishes don’t get enough lovin’ on a daily basis, you might find these uses come in handy!
I’ve been having a crafty little week in any case. :D
(Comment below if you’d like to see what I came up with, they’re no Van Goghs but hey :))
Here we go!

1. Nearly everything – resistant labels

In class, we swatch our foundations and lipsticks in our workbooks and then cover them up with see-through nailpolish.
But try it on top of marker as well for example.

2. Marking keys

And you can get as creative with this as your heart desires!
Forget paying for those markings, original is better anyway.  ;)

3. Fixing scratches on shoes

Tap tap some nailpolish on there in the same color and *poof*.

4. Fixing stockings

Does the thought of that just give you chills as well?
At least you can stop it from going any further by tapping some clear polish on the beginning and end of the rip.

5. The same thing goes for your glasses and windows

Prevent the crack from getting any bigger by stippling some on the start and end of the crack!

6. Marking your brushes and palettes

No more doubting whether the brush is yours or not, AND it makes them look a million times more fun.
We were told to do this for school, and i’d never go back!

7. Adhesive

In case there’s no glue to be found, and you need to seal an enveloppe or even glue a piece onto your model aircraft, go go nailpolish!

8. No more green jewelry

Coat your beloved treasures in some clear polish to prevent tarnishing.

9. Or rust for that matter

Give your metal goodies located in the bathroom a little layer, to protect them from the moisture.

10. Prevent frayed laces

For some reason Hippo’s sweaters seem to always fray up at the laces.
Well no more of that with a quick coat of polish.

11. Repair frayed laces

Paint some polish on them, push the ends back together, and allow to dry overnight.

12. Glow in the dark

Need something to light up in the evening? Like where the medicine cabinet is or your remote?
Get some glow in the dark polish to mark it!

13. Waterproof matches

Apparently you can dip the flammable tip of matches into some clear polish, and it will protect them from water when going camping!
I haven’t tried this yet, but it seems like a real blessing.

14. Spice up your shoes

Don’t feel like going all-out with the neon trend this summer?
Maybe painting the sole of your shoe would be fun!
Or adding some detail on the heel.
Tip time: the colors will show up a lot brighter when using a white base first.

15. Nickel-allergies

In case you have allergies kicking your behind, covering up those nasty buttons might be a good solution.

16. New twist to faux-gems

Got some white – gemmed earrings you don’t really wear anymore?
Make them purple, blue, anything you like by covering them with some transparent colored polish.

Let me know if there are any other nifty little uses I missed!! ;)
I will add yours to the list – with credits of course!
