Companies man, the government. Yeah.
Being a cruelty free/vegetarian/ecological or even just healthy consumer isn’t always as easy..
First of all, if only companies would take responsibility, and state exactly what they use in their products, and where it originated from!
We would not be fooled on a daily basis.
But that would cost them money of course. -_-‘
Even something as innocent as cookies is currently destroying the rain forests in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Palm trees are being chopped, and forests being burnt down en masse for cheap palm oil.
Cosmetic companies claim to be cruelty free all the time, but pay another company to do the testing for them.
Or they are taken over by a parent company, like The Body Shop by L’Oréal.
And then still claim to have the same no testing policy..
While L’oréal doesn’t!
If they would be forced to put “tested on animals” on their packaging, and people saw videos about it, they would lose loads of sales, i’m sure.
As for the government, we need more rules for this! All that talk about never being able to ban it completely..
Maybe not, who knows? But they’re not exactly putting in an effort either!
And it’s a crime like any other!
You can’t go around sedating a human and then dissecting it while still alive. o_O
It does seem as if there’s been some progress going on lately though.
L’oréal is making serious claims about investing money in other testing methods. Although many companies have been saying that for years to keep annoying consumers at bay.
I hope they go through with it, and inspire other companies to do the same.
We’ll see about that, i’ll bite when it’s 100% clear.
My source for all products is http://www.leapingbunny.org/ .
But there is definitely more awareness these days I feel, it’s going in the right direction!
I hope I can help spread that awareness.
And we have so much power as consumers, we can’t forget that! :)
How about you? do you keep track of animal testing when buying products?
